Sick Tamburo

Italy is being very active these days, at least from a musical point of view. And another great band from Italy, Sick Tamburo, has recently released a mighty good album.

They are born from the ashes of Prozac+, a punkrock band active in the late 90s, early 00s. Sick Tamburo’s music is an interesting mix of groovy riffs, great lyrics (in italian though, so english speakers won’t appreciate them), delayed sounds and electronic particles bouncing around. Definitely something fresh that hopefully will appeal not only to italian punkammerda (we know who we are) but also to people from outside Italy as well.

Here’s a great video: Tocca 24/7

11:11

Veracrash - 11:11

Veracrash - 11:11

From Milano, Italy (Europe, Earth, SOLar System, Milky Way, Universe, 3rd Dimension, Multidimension) we get Veracrash along with their debut album, 11:11.

This CD is a dark-ish ride through nightmare-ish and dream-ish landscapes; there are 9 tunes here, and their spiralling energy keeps me interested from start (Spoon) to finish (Snakes for Breakfast)… over and over. And when the last track is gone, you’re going to press play again (or, chances are you’ve got the auto-repeat on in itunes anyway).

This is fractal rock with a huge monolithic yet dynamic sound. A spiral-shaped journey tumbling down (or up? or both?) the rabbit hole in sweet company of Alice and the whole fucking Wonderland Kingdom, Albert Hoffman & Terence McKenna, David Icke, Jesus, Stanley Kubrik and his odissey, Reptilians & Aliens, the Merkaba & the Sri Yantra, the Mayans and their 2012, 3 or 4 egyptian pharaos and a rabbi or two.
Honestly, I can’t wait to find the lyrics somewhere, because from what I could perceive they are heavily charged with symbols, symbols, and more symbols. And then some.

Let me spend a few more words regarding the artwork of this album. It’s been made by Seldon Hunt from Australia, and it really captures the essence of this music. Right from the start, when you have a look at the cover and then at the back cover and the leaflet, you get into the right mindspace to enjoy this rock album.

Confused? Download it here, man!(free mediafire link, o yeah).

And then if you love it, buy it (or get the mp3s from amazon) and go see them live (check out their Myspace or Facebook). Allriiiight?

http://almostblueinreverse.blogspot.com/

musica piú articoli, cosa volete di piú?

Un’altro blog fico é questo:
http://indieitalia.blogspot.com/

Ancora musica a volontá su indieitalia. Perché l’Italia é prepotentemente indie!! Oh yeah!

Che altro dire? Che altro linkare? Beh dai dato che e’ uscito da un pó rmai, direi che é arrivato il momento di linkare la compilation Il Paese é Reale.

Una bella recensione l’ha scritta birdantony su Almost Blue in reverse:

Ecco come inizia:

“Probabilmente questo è il primo caso di un disco che mi piace come forma ancor più che come sostanza. E’ il tentativo di un quattro luglio esponenziale nell’Italia musicale: indipendenti nella produzione, come nella distribuzione. Per questo vorrei che ottenesse risultati egregi, sebbene la scelta della FNAC, tagliando di netto la ‘cinghia’ della distribuzione, mi lasci un pò perplesso.”
